The module DEMOEDIT is to edit and cut scenes of a Descent DEMo file.
Yet an unique editor...
There is only a DOS version available so far.
Whether a Win32 version will ever be made is yet in question.
Please also note, that only Descent 1 and 2 are supported,
Descent 3 support *MIGHT* be added later.
This version has the hard bugs in the Beta 06f release of the Descent Manager
fixed and also now adds support for Descent 1 Commercial and Shareware,
however the Shareware demos yet make problems.
And with Beta 02 the whole DEX creating thing is now 15x faster!
Please note that it is *VERY* important that you first read the README.TXT
right after you have installed the module, but before you start DEMOEDIT.EXE!
Some important things are mentioned there.
Have fun and make good small demos :)...
Here are some screenshots (click on the image to get a larger one):
 | Here is the main menu, showing all available demos in the current version
(switch with DVM). It also shows you which ones already have DEX files and how
big the demos are (to estimate how long the creation of a DEX file will last)...
|
 | Before a demo can be edited, it needs to be analysed first. A DEX file
(DEmo indeX) will be created, which might last a while. However the latest release
now shows you more informations on how long it will last and also the whole
process is now very fast...
|
 | Once you created a DEX for a specific DEMo you don't need to do this procedure
for this demo next time. This is the main menu, where you now can select what
to do with the DEMo.
|
 | Here you see what happens in the demo. With these descriptions you are quite
easy able to define the start and the end position of the new cutted demo.
You can select which events to show by changing the "DEMo Filters" in the main
menu (above).
|
 | You can even enter a comment, which will be displayed as HUD message at the
beginning of the DEMo. Once you have selected everything in the main menu,
make the DEMo and have fun with it :)...
